Tamarindo, Guanacaste
Four Elements was developed alongside Costa Rica based artist and interior designer JVP, a collaboration rooted in trust, interpretation, and craftsmanship. At ETZ & Co, working with designers is an essential part of what we do. We see manufacturing as a careful translation process: respecting the original vision, understanding the intention behind each piece, and bringing it into the physical world without losing its character.
Originally an older house
Joanna’s work moves freely between textures, tones, woven elements, curves, and unexpected color combinations, creating spaces that feel relaxed, expressive, and deeply connected to the spirit of hospitality in the tropics. Originally an older house in Tamarindo, the project was reimagined through a design system that allowed each room to feel unique while still belonging to the same story yet changing through fabrics, forms, materials, and small handcrafted details.
Open Spaces Beneath the Trees
Wood-framed loungers laid along the deck and outdoor seating set against carved geometric screens. Forms, materials, and small handcrafted details carry through curves and a softer palette.
Comfort Shaped by Color and Texture
Custom headboards in rust velvet and striped textile, hand-framed mirrors, and benches dressed at the foot of the bed. Each bedroom holds its own fabrics and unexpected color, designed to feel unique while still belonging to the same story. A project where design and fabrication worked hand in hand from beginning to end.
